Have You Ever Wanted to Design a Dress on a Bridge?
The Royal Gorge Bridge Experience
I’m excited to tell you, that I just wrapped on a commercial for Royal Gorge Bridge in Southern Colorado. I was contacted, along with a painter and a composer/musician to create a piece on the bridge and to be inspired by it. I was a little nervous since I couldn’t shake the anticipation of draping a design, not just outdoors, but on a bridge high above water. Just standing there can give you the dizzies. Plus, there could be wind, rain, tourists…We explored one evening and then the next day, we started filming at 5:30 a.m. which means I woke up at 4:00…and we worked until sunset. We were lucky to be there before and after the Gorge closed, so we got to see the most amazing changes in the light. At the end of the day, the wind whipped up and the gown was hard to contain…but one of the coolest things was the use of the camera drone. We got to see a few takes of the drone flying in on us on the bridge. First we looked like moving specs and then as we came into focus, you could make us out as individuals as the other artists and I talked and began to explore the area. It was definitely a fun experience and I’m very thankful for it.
P.S. The video should be coming out about the end of June – stay tuned! (UPDATE: Watch the video here > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kELs8MajvSw
